Layer Standard

Layers

You can read more about the documentation of a command by pressing F1

Layers are like clear acetates where you can draw one on top of each other

Layers Overview

For a ground floor layer add 01: so it now becomes A01 Layer naming convention. Our discipline is Architectural so we start the layer name with A For a ground floor layer add 01: so it now becomes A01

Add WALL for floor plan walls: A01WALL Sample layer names

Color Standard

Not all kinds of lines are in the table Not all kinds of lines are in the table. Follow the Graphic Standards for your guide

Window frames: medium thickness Thin Lines for the window frame below Thick line for the glass and walls http://www.renovate.com.au/docs/index.cfm?page=viewDoc&record=55&cat=CCB4F582-1422-130F-339C61BDAD553AB9

Plot Styles

You can also TWEAK this to get your desired effect: Thickness Color (for shading) For different scales in the same layout

Text Standard

Text Heights & Drawing Scales *Note: All text on Sheridan drawings to use romans.shx or simplex.shx font. Table below is used for non ANNOTATIVE style of placing TEXT. For the ANNOTATIVE Style, use 1:1 dimensions

Computation For Metric Scales

Computation For Imperial Scales

Annotative Scaling Use annotative scaling so that you always draw the full size of the text even in model space as you do in paper space

Annotative Scaling When you use the TEXT command, use the ANNOTATIVE style

Annotative Scaling Type your TEXT in Model Space or the model tab Go to the Layout Tab and create 2mm parallel lines in Paper space Turn Annotation Visibility and Automatically add scale buttons ON

Annotative Scaling In Model space, change the scale and pan the text you typed between the 2mm lines The Text should fit within the lines at any scale

Annotative Scaling Type some text in paper space using the same ANNOTATIVE STYLE with 2mm text height It will have the same height as your text in model space Erase the drawings and save this file to your SHERIDAN METRIC template to update your tmp file. Do the same for your SHERIDAN IMPERIAL template

Dimension Text Style

Save this in your templates (METRIC and IMPERIAL)
