Rule 1: Singular possessive: add ‘s boy= boy’s Ex: Sally brought the dog’s ball to the park.

Rule 2: Plural possessive that end in s, add the ‘ lady= ladies=ladies’ Ex: The ladies’ hats were on sale.

Rule 3: If the plural doesn’t end in s, add ‘s to make it possessive. child=children=children’s Ex: Jane walked down to the children’s library.
