Why Measure Value? My CIO told me too It’s the right thing to do: Tax Payer’s Money Transparency: all the counties are doing it Justifies my purchase of xyz software Measuring VALUE allows you to monitor performance across your IT portfolio of projects but more importantly, prioritize projects, consistent and unified reporting, and redirect as needed!

Cost: Simple or not? Value = Benefit / Cost What do you include in costs? Internal, pre-purchase discovery & learning? RFP & other procurement costs? Initial implementation? Initial implementation plus add-on projects? Where do you go to get it Is it for one project or all projects GOAL: Consistent & appropriate

Measuring What Matters Return on Vote – I was able to purchase and implement an ECM solution with a local Phoenix Partner that was completed on time, to specifications resulting in a 33% increase in case worker efficiency and effectiveness while immediately improving our compliance to federal program guidelines by 50% while simultaneously reducing the “application to service” time of our constituents by 10 days. My staff should be commended.
