1. What is meant by the term alliance? An agreement between different people An agreement between two or more countries to protect each other

2. Why was Germany annoyed by imperialism? Germany is annoyed by imperialism because Britain and France, their enemies, own much more land than them

3. Which armies had increased in size between 1870 and 1914? France and Germany

4. Describe the Von Schlieffen Plan If Russia made an attack on Germany, Germany would attack France through Belgium

5. Significances of the two crises Morocco: GB and France argue with Germany about Morocco’s independence Bosnia: Caused conflict between Austria-Hungary & Germany vs Serbia & Russia. Bosnia wanted independence.

6. Which countries were bound to each other by which alliance? Central Powers: Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, Ottoman Empire Allied Powers (Triple Entente): Britain, France, Russia, Serbia, Belgium, Italy Neutral Powers: Morocco, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland

The Austro-Serbian Alliance was made to prevent Russia from gaining control of Serbia. It is similar to the Dual Alliance because they were both made with Russian protection in mind.
