Why is important to make the right choices? The options you choose will affect how you spend your time at school for the next three years. The choices you make will also influence your options beyond GCSE, what A-Levels you will study, what courses will be available to you at College or University, and what career paths you can follow.

It is YOU who are going to shape the world of tomorrow It is YOU who are going to shape the world of tomorrow. All WE can do is to try help you prepare. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMB77eJPYs8

Good reasons for choosing an option You are good at the subject You think you will enjoy the course It fits your career ideas and plans It goes well with your other choices It helps to give you plenty of choice post 16 You think you might want to continue studying it post 16 Your research shows that it will interest you and motivate you to learn.

Bad reasons for choosing an option Your friends have chosen it You think it will be easy You think it’s a good option for a boy/girl Someone else thinks it is a good idea You like the teacher you have now You did not have time to research your options properly

Where else can I get advice? http://www.myworldofwork.co.uk/content/help-what-subjects-should-i-choose

The Subject Forum Each options subject is represented by a current GCSE student Create a shortlist of subjects you are interested in seeing Prepare questions you want answered Don’t just walk round with your friends Don’t feel you have to visit every subject
