My spectrum of sensory integration ACTIVITY E. YOUR WRITING PROMPTS PAGE 70-71

Proprioceptive system: Body awareness My experiences of body awareness and knowing how to move: Do you walk on your tiptoes? Can you stumble quite a lot? Do you like to twist your body into different positions? Do you need to watch your fingers when doing simple tasks? Do you like to chew on things like your sleeve or pencil? Do you tend to drop things easily? Will you hold your pen so tightly that you develop pain in your hand? Or do you press too hard on the page when writing? Do you like to stay close to the wall or hold onto to things to keep balanced? Can you sense how much distance is between you and other objects? Do people every say you are too rough when playing? Can you judge when you are being gentle or rough?

Vestibular system: Body position/balance/sensory avoidance/stimulation My experiences of body position and balance:   Do you get claustrophobic in a room with lots of people or in a small space? Do you tend to lean up against things to keep your position or balance? Can you coordinate your movements to do a series of P.E. tasks? Do you often feel afraid of falling? Can you work out the height of a step or a wall to climb it or jump down with no problem? Is it hard for your eyes to look up and down and copy from the board? Are you constantly told to sit up straight in school?

Vestibular system: Body position/balance/sensory avoidance/stimulation I want to avoid these movements: Do you try to avoid using the P.E. equipment that require jumping or climbing? Do you get sick or dizzy quite easily when your feet are off the ground? Or do these types of activities make you anxious? I love to use my body to: Do you like to crash into things? Do you like to kick and punch things really hard? Is this very satisfying? What things bring you a sense of comfort? Does spending time on a swing help you to feel calm? Is jumping on a trampoline enjoyable? Can you do this for much longer than everyone else?
