Old and New This is our last week in our old school building. Word This is our last week in our old school building. As you look around the school you may have noticed that different departments have been throwing out old files and furniture. Display boards are empty and packing boxes are full.

You may have observed some of the displays up around reception. Old and New Word You may have observed some of the displays up around reception. Pictures of past staff and students who were once a part of this school. Last week people form the local community had an opportunity to share their memories and wonder around the corridors of the school building one last time.

Old and New This is the Autumn term. Word This is the Autumn term. As the sessions change we can see how the once bright and vibrant leaves on the trees go to ground. Like the changing of the sessions this school building that was once bright, vibrant and full of life will soon be empty and will go to ground.

Did you know that the Christian liturgical year begins in the Autumn? Old and New Word Did you know that the Christian liturgical year begins in the Autumn? I wonder why Christians chose this season of death and decay to celebrate the beginning of something new?

“When the grass disappears, the new growth is seen. ” (Proverbs 27:25) Old and New Word I wonder why as we are sat in a school building that is about to be demolished, that we get the feeling that we are about to have the opportunity to celebrate something new? “When the grass disappears, the new growth is seen. ” (Proverbs 27:25) “It’s time to see what I can do, to test the limits and break through” (Elsa – Off of Arandale)

Old and New Response Take some time to think about some of the memories, attitudes and actions you would like to let go of, to fall to the ground, to leave behind in this old building. Consider the new memories you would like to make and the attitudes and actions you would like to see flourish in our new building. Respect Integrity Hope Kindness Courage Responsibility Trust
