Overall Objectives of Math 8 Help students become competent and confident problem solvers Allow students to create written and oral math problems which supports sequencing, logical organization, and summarization of concepts Challenge students to use their mathematical reasoning to draw logical conclusions about mathematics; analyze situations; and use concrete materials to explain relationships Provide the opportunity for students to use their writing skills to clarify math ideas and to express their feelings about mathematics. Engage student thinking through the arts and communications technology to realize how math is used in other curriculum areas as well as in their daily lives

Most unit assessments will be through Interactive Achievement to help students become friendly with test taking via the computer to preparation for the end of year Math 8 Standards of Learning state assessment.
