Presentation transcript:

Point Perspective Vocabulary Concept of how an object seems smaller the farther away it gets. Horizon Line The line that divides the sky from the ground and serves as the viewers’ eye level: It can be placed as high or as low as the artist wishes and is always step #1 in any point perspective drawing. Vertical Lines Up and down lines: In 1&2 point perspective, these lines are straight and serve as the support system for each object. -In 3 point perspective, these lines are connected to a point either above or below the horizon line Horizontal Lines Side to side lines: In any point perspective, these lines are connected to 1 point or 2 points that are on the horizon line.

3 Point Perspective Vocabulary Bird’s Eye View Concept in point perspective where the 3rd point is below the horizon line so the tops of the buildings are bigger and therefore appear to be closer to the viewer. *Remember it as the bird is looking down on the world so the point is below him. Worm’s Eye View Concept in point perspective where the 3rd point is above the horizon line so the bottoms of the buildings are bigger and therefore appear to be closer to the viewer. *Remember it as the worm is looking up at everything so the point is above him.
