About Tux Paint is an interactive computer program that allows children to create drawings using a variety of tools such as paint brushes, lines, stamps, and “magic.

About Students can use this tool to: Create 2 D shapes on a blank canvas using a large variety of colors. Students can choose different drawing tools such as paint brushes, stamps, lines, shapes, text, and “magic”.

About Students can use this program in all content areas. For example: Math teachers can have students design there own 2 D shapes. Students can add sound to the shapes. Students can create talking shapes using text and label tools.

About Children don’t need any knowledge of operating systems because images are saved and loaded using thumbnails. New and fun paint brush tools can be added by teachers and parents. The program has a print command that allows children create pictures that can printed. The program allows children to create a slide show presentation. The program is equipped with a cartoon version of Tux, the Linux penguin, appears at the bottom to give tips, hints and information.

How children can use: Step 1: Choose the tools you would like to use.

How children can use: Step 6: Click on your drawing and start typing a message. Press enter or tab when you are done.
