Spring 1 2019

EXPLORER DOME Planetarium On 8th January, KS2 were treated to a very special visit by a planetarium. Every class in KS2 took their turn to step inside the amazing dome to find out the hidden secrets of our galaxy, which are yet to be revealed. Everyone had an amazing time and we hope that they will come to visit us again soon. Planetarium

Stoke City Visit On 9th January , Stoke City visited our school to inform us about some of the brilliant events they are running, and to invite us to their next game against West Brom . After the talk, they treated year 2 to a goodie bag with a T-shirt and 3 free tickets to the game - we were all very jealous!. vs

Colwich Library The Year 6 librarians open the library every dinner time, and they say there are lots of new books for you to enjoy, thanks to all the money that has been raised through our Book Fairs. The librarians are planning to put on lots of events and competitions for you to get involved in, and they held the first one by treating Year 1 to a Teddy bear’s picnic at the end of last half-term. Don’t forget the Mobile Library too, which is taken out onto the playground every dinner-time.

Family Group Leaders Eagles Owls Herons Kingfishers Kestrels At the start of the year, the whole school met in their Family Groups to vote for their Family Group leaders and deputies. Everyone learns about what an election is, and the brave year 6 children who have to make speeches, build lots of confidence. This year, the winning candidates were: Eagles Evanne + Phoebe Owls Poppy + Rory Herons Isabelle + James Kingfishers Emma + Sammy Kestrels Arabella + Esme

Year 2 Class Assembly On 30th January, year 2 performed an amazing assembly about the first men on the moon, and they blew us away with their truly fantastic performance . An incredible cast of children played the lunar legends, supported by the brilliant Miss Wilde and Mrs Pearce – they really inspired us and had us singing moon songs for the rest of the day – thank you year 5!

Trust, Respect and Excellence Our Values At Colwich School we have chosen three very important values that everyone tries to live and learn by every single day in order to make ourselves and our school the best we can be. The values we voted for are: Trust, Respect and Excellence

This year, our Eco Team created an incredible new Maths Garden This year, our Eco Team created an incredible new MATHS GARDEN to help all the children in school have a great time learning and playing. When it opened, each class took their turn to visit the amazing garden and test it out . The reactions were brilliant and we are sure that everybody can’t wait to test it out properly once the sun comes out.
