Driftwood parent information meeting October 17, 2017

Payment schedule Date Amount October 20th $50* (deposit is non-refundable) November 17th $40 December 15th January 19th February 16th March 16th April 20th Total cost: $290

Financial information Although the 5th grade team plans to host at least one fundraiser to help supplement the cost of the trip, please do not rely on those funds to secure your student’s spot There are no refunds provided from fundraisers Deposits are non-refundable Please label and submit payments to your child’s homeroom teacher at the beginning of each morning; make sure that you receive a receipt from your child’s teacher for each payment Please make payments in a timely fashion; funds are used to secure buses, drivers, etc. Funds include the costs of transportation, food at the center, and lodging accommodations

Chaperones Parents are welcome to come as chaperones Cost is $290 if riding the bus Cost is $160 if taking your own transportation Must complete and pass a background check Must be willing to actively supervise students—you will be required to participate in all of the group activities, accompany & monitor students while in the dining hall, etc. Must be willing to stay in the cabins with the students (please note that teachers are not required to stay in the cabins) All deposits are non-refundable There will be a parent-chaperone meeting later in the year with confirmed chaperones

Additional information Student medications Student behavior: behavior issues will not be tolerated. Students who have shown excessive behavior issues at school are still welcome to attend the trip, however, their parent/guardian will be required to attend as a chaperone for them Weather All information about the education center itself, descriptions of classes, chaperone expectations, pictures, etc. can be found at http://www.driftwoodee.org/
