Way Forward and Closure Pre-Reading Pre-reading for this session includes the following documents that are both available from www.idealclinic.org.za/docs:- (1) Ideal clinic manual (follow the Ideal Clinic Framework link) (2) Primary Health Care Laboratory Handbook available (follow the Manuals and Handbooks link) Workshop process Please go through these documents prior to presenting this session They will provide you with a background to the materials covered in this session.

Way Forward 1 NHLS will be responsible for : distributing the PHC Laboratory Handbook to each PHC health facility through their local business units (1 per PHC health facility) business unit manager to ensure the acknowledgement of receipt forms are completed by Health facility manager when handbooks are delivered by courier on their regular routes. Area manager will consolidate the acknowledgement forms and forward to Ms Gabashane by End Feb 2018. training of all relevant laboratory staff using NHLS master trainers NHLS to engage with Health Districts and participate in training at the provincial and district levels. .

Acknowledgement Forms Acknowledgement of Receipt – per Business Unit (to be completed by the Area Manager) Acknowledgement of receipt – Health Facility (to be completed and signed by each Health Facility Manager)

Way Forward 2 DOH will be responsible for : RTC to cascade training through engagement with District Support Partners (where possible ) and PPTICRM to all health facilities as part of striving towards reaching Ideal Clinic Status RTC to work with NHLS to roll out training by end May 2018 in all districts .
