Wednesday: (10-12-16) Warm Up = 1.Please start studying in journal “Formation Of A New Substance” Vocabulary 2. “Physical Properties” Activities and Notes

Lesson Objective: You will be able to define a physical change as well as list out evidence that suggests a physical change has occurred.

I have students list out all the different ways that they can change paper while having it still be paper.

Physical Changes Example: 1. Change in state of matter. (Solid to liquid to gas).

H2O H2O H2O

Water is made out of H2O and when it turns to ice and mist it is still made out of H2O!

Physical Changes: Physical changes are usually reversible!

Physical Changes: A physical change also occurs when substances mix and something dissolves. Ex: Salt water and lemonade
