Renewable Energy Pathway Presentation.

What are Energy Pathways. Energy pathways are complete cycles that start with a raw material with energy potential and provide a complete pathway from the production of fuel to the final multi-use energy output, and its subsequent utilisation.

Pathway Overview. Raw MaterialManufacturing process + Infrastructure Pellets and or Briquettes RHI TarriffBiomass BoilerSale to customer

Pathway Features. Availability, selection and preparation of raw materials. Specification and suitability of manufacturing process components. Assessing and upgrading manufacturing infrastructure. Market and technical decisions regarding end product specification – pellets or briquettes. Choice, sizing and suitability of biomass boilers, and commercial applications of outputs. RHI certification.

Pathway benefits. Ensuring quantity and quality of raw product at initial stage confirms viability of the project. Tailoring manufacturing plant specification to quantity and quality of raw product ensures efficiency of production and future proofing. Carrying out necessary adaptions to infrastructure and services avoids rescaling and upgrading early in the pathway. Ensuring correct boiler sizing and specification gives RHI qualification and maximises output in a selected energy utilisation mode.

Renewable Heat Incentive - RHI The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is the worlds first long-term financial support programme for renewable heat. Launched in November 2011 with a scheme for the non- domestic sector that provides payments to industry, businesses and public sector organisations.

RHI Tarriffs Tariff NameEligible TechnologyEligible SizesTierPrevious tariff (pence/kWhth) - Up to New rounded tariff (pence/ kWhth)- from Small commercial biomass Solid biomass including solid biomass contained in municipal solid waste (incl. CHP) Less than 200 kWth Tier Tier Medium Commercial Biomass 200 kWth and above; less than 1,000 kWth Tier Tier Large Commercial Biomass 1,000 kWth and above N/A11

RHI Payment Calculations. You are paid a certain amount per kilowatt hour (kWhth). For a simple system: This is calculated by multiplying the appropriate tariff by the amount of eligible heat generated in the relevant quarterly period. The formula is: Payment = Tariff level x Heat generated by RHI installation The formula to determine how many kWh have been produced is: Eligible heat used on system * Heat generated by RHI Installation Total heat generated on system

RHI Payments The RHI provides financial support for renewable heat technologies for the lifetime of the installation (to a maximum of 20 years). Payments are made on a quarterly basis. Once you are accredited under the RHI, a tariff level will be assigned to your installation based on its technology (e.g. biomass, heat pump, solar) and size and payments will be made based on the actual heat output of the system. Payments begin to accrue from the date of accreditation of the installation. The date is confirmed in the accreditation confirmation letter ed to successful applicants.

REP Design & Implementation Service. This agreement encompasses the overall design and specification for a bespoke REP system and consists of: Client meeting and brief. Site assessment for building and services suitability. Agreement on REP format to include type of end product and energy transfer if required. Detailed specification and layout of all plant required to achieve client aims. Costings for installation and commissioning of complete system. Advice on certification and licensing where required. Full client confidentiality. Fixed fee to cover all the above Small £2,000 Medium £4,000 Large £6,000 _________________________________________________________________________Plus VAT If the client awards the supply and installation contract to Lancashire Fuels 4U Ltd, the above fee will be deducted from the final invoice..
