Curriculum Performance tasks that extend grade-level standards and expectations Accelerated pacing of spiraled material Introduction to some above grade-level standards and concepts Instructional strategies for advanced learners will be utilized Fourth Grade Curriculum: http://academics.cobbk12.org/wp- content/uploads/2017/02/Grade-4-Math-Framework_Standards-for-2016_17.pdf Fifth Grade Curriculum: http://academics.cobbk12.org/wp- content/uploads/2017/02/Grade-5-Math-Framework_Standards-for-2016_17.pdf

Assessments and Grading Morning Work: When your student arrives at school they will have Math Morning Work which is reviewed in AC Math class. On Friday they will have a Morning Work quiz based on the Morning Work for that week. Other Graded Work: Students will turn in other work to be graded. If they earn less than an 80 on this work, they may re-submit it once within 3 days for ½ credit to improve their grade. Late or missing work: If a student has not turned in an assignment, the grade in ParentVue will be 60. If they turn in the work then their grade is updated but subject to a penalty for being late. Homework: Students are expected to complete homework. Often homework is to view a posted video and/or complete a few practice problems. Homework is not graded except when students need to finish a class assignment.

AC Math Supplies For AC Math: Two pocket folder Composition Notebook Ear buds Brought to class each day: Scissors Colored pencils Pencils Eraser Given to Mrs. Lyjak for AC Math: 2 glue sticks 3 dry erase markers

Bring Your Own Device and Office 365 I will be implementing Bring Your Own Device in the AC Math classroom for students who wish to participate. A permission form is required but only one permission form is necessary for both Target and AC Math. In this class, students will be using Office 365 to create and store their work. This service is provided for free to all Cobb County Students. Click here for more information regarding Office 365.

Looking Forward to a Great Year! The best way to contact me is by email Leslie.Lyjak@cobbk12.org.
