Writing Letters To Christians In Prison

Christians around the world are placed in prison every day because of their faith in Jesus. Jesus warned us that this would happen in John 15:18-19. “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”

Christian prisoners are isolated, alone and may be tempted to deny Jesus. It is our duty to care for our brothers and sisters who are being persecuted and imprisoned for their faith. “Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering” Hebrews 13:3.

Activity Split into groups. Hand out prison profile, a sheet of paper and a pen. Write encouraging letter to Christian Prisoner following the instructions on the profile. Pray for the prisoner.
