BIO 3401 - FACIAL SYMMETRY LAB MEASUREMENTS Start by drawing a line EXACTLY down the centre of the face. Note if the head is inclined slightly and try to account for this. Don’t try get the line through the centre of every feature. A. The width of the iris of each eye B. From the centre line to the tear duct on each eye C. The width of each eye from the tear duct to the corner on the other side where the eyeball is no longer visible D. The distance from the centre line to the other side where the eyeball is no longer visible AR AL BR BL CR CL E. The distance from the centre line to the point on the side of the head that defines the visible limit of the cheek bones DR DL ER EL IR IL F. The width of each nostril FR FL G. The width of the mouth from the centre line to point where the line of the lips disappears GR GL HR HL H. The distance from the centre line to the point on the side of the head that defines the visible limit of the jaw bones I. On each side of the face, draw a line from the point where the line of the lips disappears, to a point where the line through the tear ducts(BR & BL) meets the centre line and measure this distance.
