This is what we have been learning so far this term …. Reception Class In class we have introduced M&A We are talking about Harvest and making Scarecrow Masks. We are also Writing about Humpty Dumpty. In Maths we are adding up objects that are 5 and 10 units. Class One We have been reading ‘We’re going on A Bear Hunt’ and have performed this to Reception class. We have also been learning about Harvest and learning new Harvest songs. Class Two In Maths we are concentrating on 10’s and 20’s. We have been learning about different animal habitats. We have also been reading ‘The Knight and the Dragon’, which has helped us to write and learn about Castles. Class Four We have been making Harvest Seed pictures. Class Three RE – we are learning about belief expressed through ART – Religious Symbols. In we are discussing ‘Greetings’ or ‘Saludo’. In Maths we are doing activities which count forwards and backwards in 5&10s. Class Six We are currently reading Kensuke’s Kingdom with follow up work and exploring the local area. In Maths, we are learning about negative numbers: Class Five We are learning about the Industrial Revolution in Topic; in particular, Steam Engines, Factories and Victorian life. We have also been collecting images for our Art Deco page.

This is an opportunity for you to speak to your child’s class teacher about how they are settling in to their new class and how they are progressing so far. Please make sure we have your up-to-date mobile phone number. Not only do we need it to contact you in an emergency, but we also send lots of information and reminders to our main contacts by text. In order for our children to function to their full potential it is recommended that they sleep between 9-11 hours each night. This allows their bodies to relax and prepare for the next busy day. Please support us by trying to ensure children go to bed at a reasonable hour and are in school before 8.45am each morning. Attendance Attendance for from 04.09.18 is 96.6%, we hit our target as a school of 96%. Thank you to all and please keep it up and see if we can beat this figure by the next newsletter. There are games, crafts and sports taking place every day. We have lots of healthy choices to suit every need. Please remember that if you have any concerns or queries regarding school or your child, that you can make an appointment to see either Mrs Binner, our Head Teacher or a member of our Senior Management team, via the main office. We are always happy to assist you.
