Notre Dame Information K-8 grade levels Catholic School 200 students 13 teachers and 9 teacher’s aides Goal: Guide students toward an understanding of the fact that learning is a lifelong process

Notre Dame Mission Statement Students at Notre Dame are empowered with Gospel values, Catholic vision, and academic excellence, which lead them to fulfill their unique vocation within the security of a faithful family community Founded by the Sisters of Notre Dame in 1928 Notre Dame School continues to provide quality Catholic education to the families of the greater Chico area, primarily serving St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Our Divine Savior parishes within the Diocese of Sacramento

Individualized Learning Objectives Learning Objective 1- Describe how a kindergarten classroom functions and what duties are required to perform that role Learning Objective 2- Describe methods that support children’s cognitive growth and learning Learning Objective 3- Apply knowledge of Child Development by assisting in working with groups of children doing homework or learning activities

Learning Objectives Continued Performed many job duties that include: -Passing out lunch plates to children at lunch time -Cleaning tables after lunch time - Counting skills with numbered cubes - The children are lined up in a row to go to recess -Sounding out words and syllables - Figuring out what words mean - Prepare activity materials for future use -Run errands for teacher - Set up tables with pencils and crayons for learning activities - Grade in-class papers -Math in-class activities

Learning Objectives Continued Interviewed the supervising teacher about what works best in her classroom for children to learn Multi-modality, teach to as many children as possible Kinesthetic, tactile, and visual learners Aide or Title 1 teacher comes in to assist children Set schedule that she follows throughout the day
