Introduction to the Order of Operations Baking Brownies … Can you put these steps in order? Put Pan in 350 degree oven for 25 minutes Open Box of Brownie Mix Stir Ingredients until smooth Mix Brownie Mix, Oil, Eggs and Water in a large bowl Pour Brownie batter into baking pan Eat and Enjoy! So what does baking brownies have to do with Math?!

Just like we have to follow steps in order when we are baking brownies, in math we have to follow steps too! When we are given a problem with more than one operation like addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, or exponents… it can be confusing to know where to begin! The Order of Operations is our math RECIPE and if we follow it we will be sure to get the correct answer. Let’s try it out!
