Richboro Middle School Lockdown

A lockdown occurred on Monday and was prompted by a teenager who said via Snapchat they had an AR-15 assault rifle and planned to come to Richboro Middle School. After a student notified the principal of the threat, the school was locked down and police went to the teen's home. During an interview with officers, the 17-year-old admitted to posting the threat but did not possess an AR-15 and did not actually plan on going to the school. Authorities did not say where the teen lived but did say he or she is not a Richboro Middle School student. The lockdown was organized by staff and began around 11 a.m. It lasted to approximately 12:20 p.m. The threat not only put Richboro Middle School on lockdown for more than an hour, but also briefly locked down the nearby Richboro Elementary School. According to Northampton Township Police, the 17-year-old is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center awaiting a hearing.

In Other News For the first time since 1985, an American woman has won the Boston Marathon. Desiree Linden captured the victory Monday with an unofficial time of 2:39:54. She battled treacherous conditions, highlighted by rain and cold temperatures, to pull away from the field for a relatively easy win. Linden is the 16th American woman to win the marathon, though the race has been dominated by other nations in recent years. The race winner had come from Kenya or Ethiopia for the last decade. Japanese runner Yuki Kawauchi, the men's winner, won the men's division in 2:15:53. Two black men arrested at a Starbucks in Philly will meet with the coffee chain's CEO. Starbucks wants it to happen this week, while CEO Kevin Johnson is in Philadelphia dealing with the controversy. A store manager called police because the two men were sitting in the store without ordering. They were arrested for trespassing. Customers said they were waiting for another man to arrive. Video of the arrest caught fire on social media over the weekend and led to accusations of racism and protests. Johnson has apologized, and the manager no longer works at that location. Chemical weapons experts still can't enter the Syrian city of Douma, the site of the suspected chemical attack on civilians. The UK says Syria and Russia are blocking the UN-cleared investigators, and the US believes Russia has tampered with evidence at the site. A Russian military official said investigators would be allowed to enter the city tomorrow. Michael Cohen, President Trump's personal lawyer, was forced by a federal judge to reveal the name of an as of yet unknown client. There were audible gasps in the courtroom when conservative talk show host Sean Hannity's name was revealed. Hannity -- who went berserk over the Cohen raid last week without revealing his connection to the attorney -- said Cohen never represented him and they only talked briefly about real estate.
