Trust Worthy

Who is the most trustworthy person you have ever met? Anjana Suta Academy www.JayaRama.US rev. 181214

Father Mother

Father, Mother, Sister, Aunt Sally, Teachers We have met a lot of people who have been trustworthy in different degrees and ways. Father, Mother, Sister, Aunt Sally, Teachers

The person whom we have met and have come to trust the most is Srila A The person whom we have met and have come to trust the most is Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, author of the book Krsna, The Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Of course you may not know him or may have a different opinion Of course you may not know him or may have a different opinion. That’s O.K. this is our opinion, and we hold it in great part because in him we found the most humble person we have ever met, always ready to see the good qualities in others and accept their instructions.

We must know the present need of human society. And what is that need? With this preface let us dip into the content of this article. We must know the present need of human society. And what is that need?

We feel that society needs a brain. A head. Not a political head… ..but an intellectual, cultural head.

So we started the Anjana Suta Academy to help achieve this goal. Srila Prabhupada, A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, said that every Sannyasi should be head of his own institution for preaching Krsna consciousness.

We heard. BV Library – NOI. Mission Statement. Philosophy of Education. Britannica. Where are we are at.

1. We heard.

1. We heard.

1. We heard. We heard from Srila Prabhupada’s lips when he visited our ISKCON Temple in San Francisco, Berkeley, California, in 1976, That anyone who chants: Sri Krsna Caitanya, Prabhu Nityananda, Sri Advaita, Gadadhara, Srivasa-adi-gaura-bhakta-vrnda.

1. We heard. … and follows it with: Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare // Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare … has achieved the perfection of life, but … if you want to preach … you should probably read my books.

1. We heard.

Swamiji, what will happen to your movement when you die? 1. We heard. When one reporter asked: Swamiji, what will happen to your movement when you die?

Srila Prabhupada responded firmly: I will never die. 1. We heard. Srila Prabhupada responded firmly: I will never die. I will live forever in my books!

End of Part One: We Heard.

2. BV Library – NOI.

If we try to read Srila Prabhupada’s books we may be daunted by the quantity, over 100-volumes. Even His Divine Grace commented that even in one hundred years one could not read these books thoroughly.

Preface The Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is conducted under the supervision of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī. . . Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī has given many other books, such as Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu, Vidagdha-mādhava and Lalita-mādhava, but Upadeśāmṛta (Nectar of Instruction) constitutes the first instructions for neophyte devotees. One should follow these instructions very strictly. Then it will be easier to make one’s life successful. Hare Kṛṣṇa. A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami September 20, 1975, Viśvarūpa-mahotsava

So, we recommend the NOI is an excellent book to use as the basis of our readings of Srila Prabhupada’s books. It is a depth summary of all of our Gaudiya Vaisnava philosophy, knowledge, siddhanta, from earth to highest heaven and if we investigate, memorize, all the citations used in the purports, it serves as a depth study to the rest of the Bhaktivedanta Library.

3. Mission Statement.

Preface Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu appeared in order to bestow upon human society the benediction of the science of Kṛṣṇa. . . to understand the mission of Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and follow in His footsteps, one must very seriously follow in the footsteps of the Six Gosvāmīs Śrī Rūpa, Sanātana, Bhaṭṭa Raghunātha, Śrī Jīva, Gopāla Bhaṭṭa and Dāsa Raghunātha.

Our Mission is to qualify ourselves to help Lord Caitanya by studying the literature of the Six Goswamis through Srila Prabhupada’s books.

4. Philosophy of Education.

Stages of Educational Development Prema Bhava Asaktis Ruci Nista Anarta-nivrtti Bhajan-kriya Sadhu-sanga Sraddha See: NOI-7, “One must begin with faith…” BG 4.10 SB 7.6.2

Means of Learning Result of Learning Prema SANKIRTAN

Atmosphere for Learning Prema SANKIRTAN Varna-Ashrama Dharma See SB 1.9.28-29

It takes hours, several sessions, to discuss this strategy for education, but the basic principle is that real education means going from Sraddha to Prema. What level are you on? What level are your students on? The means is Sankirtan. The goal is Sankirtan. Little kids in ISKCON primary schools can be learning thinking how they will show this to the kids at the Montessori school. We need to learn basic principles of Varna-ashama-dharma as the ambience for this development.

5. Britannica.

What is Education? The Britannica’s Idea Harvey Siegel, Professor, Department of Philosophy, University of Miami The Western philosophical tradition began in ancient Greece, and philosophy of education began with it. … The introduction by Socrates of the “Socratic method” of questioning (see dialectic) began a tradition in which reasoning and the search for reasons that might justify beliefs, judgments, and actions was (and remains) fundamental; such questioning in turn eventually gave rise to the view that education should encourage in all students and persons, to the greatest extent possible, the pursuit of the life of reason.

Pavlov Piaget Rousseau Jane Adams This view of the central place of reason in education has been shared by most of the major figures in the history of philosophy of education, despite the otherwise substantial differences in their other philosophical views.

The Theater’s Idea “We learn through experience and experiencing, and no one teaches anyone anything… If the environment permits it, anyone can learn whatever he chooses to learn; and if the individual permits it, the environment will teach him everything it has to teach… This means involvement on all levels: intellectual, physical and intuitive.

Of the three, the intuitive, the most vital to the learning situation, is neglected” Viola Spolin, Improvisation for the Theatre, Northwestern University Press, 1963

We would classify education in these three perspectives: Karma – Learning information, facts, names, concepts. Jnana – Developing logics, how to relate the facts eg. Grammar, arithmetic, geometry etc. Britannica’s idea. Dhyana – Developing intuition, imagination, contemplation, meditation ie. Improvisation Theater. Bhakti – Learning to love wisdom, PhD

6. Where are we are at?

No food. No money. No friends. Is this where everything ends? No! Chant “Hare Krsna” and Krsna will give you intelligence how to go ahead – Vidya vadu jivanam. The only requirement for receiving this perfect knowledge is… that we have no selfish desire. If Krsna wants that you …

… pack-up on a rocket and leave for the moon, O.K! Good-bye to my Yatra, good-bye to my clothes, take whatever in your book-bag, bucket and briefcase goes.

Because books as education are really a secondary endeavor Because books as education are really a secondary endeavor. Chanting Hare Krsna is the basic lever.
