Activity: Barriers to CSS Need several volunteers Line up in 2 rows facing each other Point fingers and hold arms out Goal: Lower the stick to the ground while keeping it level Each person’s fingers must touch stick at all times Stick must rest on top of fingers – no pinching or grabbing http://www.wilderdom.com/games/descriptions/HeliumStick.html http://www.teambuildingusa.com/team-building-games-helium-pole/

Activity: Barriers to CSS What happened? Was this result expected? What were the barriers to lowering the stick? How were these barriers addressed? Would this have been easier for fewer, or only one person? Why? How does this relate to chemical safety and security?

Activity: Barriers to CSS This mirrors the business dynamic of projects starting out well, but quickly going awry. Why is that? Sometimes the best laid plans just don’t work out. What you do as a team when plans go awry has everything to do with team work, trust and communication. Teams come away from this activity with a deeper understanding of how they work best together
