Lesson 9 3rd Qtr. 2018

Acts 18:9-10  Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, ‘Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.’

And Paul chose Silas, and departed, Act 15:40-41  And Paul chose Silas, and departed, And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.  Then he came to Derbe and Lystra: Sunday ‘behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:

Paul wanted to have him go on with him Paul wanted to have him go on with him. And he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in that region, for they all knew that his father was Greek. And they went through the cities,

When they got to Troas, a vision appeared to Paul in the night When they got to Troas, a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us."

Monday And from thence to Philippi, .. and a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that …which were spoken of Paul. And when she was baptized, and her household.

Act 16:20,23 ..And the ownsers brought them to the magistrates, saying these men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,.. who commanded to beat them. …And when they had… they cast them into prison.

The Jailer asked ‘what must I do to be saved? Paul answered; Act 16:25-26  And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.  And suddenly there was a great earthquake, and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.  The Jailer drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.  But Paul cried with a loud voice, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.  The Jailer asked ‘what must I do to be saved? Paul answered; Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:  And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, ..that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.  Act 17:4  And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, But the Jews which believed not,… set all the city on an uproar, saying These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also; And when they had taken security of Jason, they let them go. Tuesday

Acts 17:10  And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who .. went into the synagogue. .. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.  Act 17:12  Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.  The Jews came thither also, and stirred up the people.  And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul .. to Athens by sea.

Wednesday Acts 17:22-23  Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.  For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore you ignorantly worship, Him declare I unto you.

Acts 18:1-2  After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; he was of the same craft, they were tentmakers.  Act 18:4-5  And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.  And when Silas and Timotheus were come, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified that Jesus was Christ. Then opposition arose!
