17 YEARS OF SOCIAL IMPACT One of the first social investment funds in the UK, established in 2002 We’ve supported hundreds of social enterprises and charities across the UK and overseas We work with charitable organisations of all shapes and sizes, including social enterprises with a charitable purpose. www.venturesome.org

WHAT IS SOCIAL INVESTMENT? Social investment is the use of money to achieve a social, as well as a financial, return. A social investment is not a grant or a donation; it’s a loan to be repaid with interest. It’s not suitable for every organisation, but our experienced team helps applicants make the right choice. www.venturesome.org

CAF VENTURESOME FUNDS Loans, secured and unsecured, through our three funds Development Fund Supporting growth or cash flow needs with loans from £25k to £400k + payable over 3-6 years, at approx. 6.5% interest Community Land Trust Fund Support to build affordable community housing with loans from £25k to £400k+ SE-Assist Help for start-up social enterprises with unsecured loans from £10k to £30k. WHERE WE WORK We fund social enterprises and charities that operate in the UK and internationally, as long as they are based in the UK. Since 2002 we have funded 66 social investments in the South East. www.venturesome.org

CHANGE PLEASE Change Please is empowering the homeless community by training them to be baristas. TAPESTRY CARE Tapestry Care UK is a social business and registered charity, based in Essex, that’s committed to supporting people as they get older, helping them to remain independent and live a positive, fulfilling life. £50,000 social investment to invest in developing and implement innovative solutions for supporting vulnerable adults at home, and in community hubs in the community itself. The social impact of the loan has meant that the organisation is forecast to provide an additional 1500 sessions for vulnerable people a year in its community hub and grow its homecare services. www.venturesome.org

LOCAL FOOD LINKS Local Food Links a community owned social enterprise with a mission is to ensure school children have access to healthy school meals using locally sourced products, across Dorset. Over the last 7 years CAF Venturesome has lent LFL £425,000 to fund expansion, with £225,000 already paid back in full. LFL now supplies 3,700 meals a day to 50 schools in Dorset.   www.venturesome.org

HISBE HISBE, founded by sisters Ruth and Amy Anslow, is an innovative supermarket, powered by local people, community spirit and a social enterprise model. £10,000 from SE-Assist Fund towards the first store in Brighton in 2013 £60,000 from Development Fund to scale up and open second store. The HISBE store has turned over £5.5 million, serves 4,000 customers a week, employs 15 people, and supports over 90 local suppliers - and it’s commercially viable. www.venturesome.org
