PROPOSED TRANS-ARUNACHAL HIGHWAY Length - 2407 km Route - From Tawang to Kanubari The proposed highway extends from Tawang the western part to Kanubari the eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh which connects II of existing districts. The remaining 5 districts and Capital with be connected to Trans-Arunachal Highway by link roads.

INITIATIVES TAKEN BY POLICE DEPARTMENT 1.Enforcement team formed to check traffic violations. 2.Education team formed to conduct traffic & road safety awareness programme among drivers, Public and students. 3.Hill recovery Cranes received from MORTH New Delhi is placed for relief operations. 4.Due to shortage of manpower, 30 wardens are deployed for traffic management duties in capital town

PROBLEM AREA 1. Bad road connection 2. Acute shortage of man power for traffic duties. Due to fund crisis Govt. could sanction proposal for creation of 438 posts for traffic police. 3. Shortage of traffic equipments due to merges allotment of fund. We have submitted a proposal to MORTH for sanction of fund of Rs. 781 lakhs for purchase of traffic equipments and other infra structure development for improvement of traffic management, Vide letter No. PHQ/RSC/26/PUB/RT/ 2006/PT-1 DT. 25/4/2012.
