September 20: PTA Meeting 7:30 pm September 21: PTA Movie Night What We Are Learning This month in first grade is busy, busy, busy! We are all getting to know each other and are having fun doing so! In Reading we will be talking about the alphabet and reviewing the sounds of all letters . We will also be learning about Realistic Fiction, how to describe characters in stories and nouns! Math will have us jumping as we add numbers and create number sentences. We will use our knowledge to begin to write sentences and stories, always remembering that, “If we can think it, we can say it and if we can say it, we can write it!” In Social Studies our topics include rules and communities. Science has us investigating what is all around us using our five senses. And this is just the beginning! Wait until you see all that we will accomplish in first grade! Starting… NOW!!!
