What would this hill look like from side on? This is a cross section… a side on view of an area of relief on a map.

Cross Section Success Place the edge of a piece of paper along the cross section (between the two points). Mark and label the heights on the paper where the paper crosses the contour lines. Also mark on spot heights to show tops of hills Remove the piece of paper. Place it on graph paper. Draw a vertical scale, and mark on the points at the correct height. Join up the points freehand.
