Lab Equipment

Chromatography Separate organic and inorganic substances from one another. Never let your substance go below the water level.

Compound Microscope Uses two lenses Has an optical system (objective and ocular lens) Has a mechanical system (moving parts) Has a light system (light source)

Phase contrast microscope Allows you to view specimens without killing them. Uses depression slides

Dissecting Microscope Has two lenses. Acts as a more user friendly magnifying glass.

Electron Microscope Shoots electrons at an object to capture the image. Magnifies by 100,000 times. Specimens must be thin.
