Question 1: Have you considered how a new Countywide agency may benefit your jurisdiction’s efforts? Having a coordinated effort will help get more projects done Better information and data sharing Some maintenance efforts are useless unless other jurisdictions are involved (drainage ditch that is cleaned out in one city will only be beneficial if the city downstream helps out to) Valuable to have one approach to flood control and SLR in the county People saw the benefits. Flood Control and SLR singular approach

Question 2: What is your jurisdiction currently doing to address flood control and erosion resiliency? Sea level rise? Regional stormwater management? Private development applications Updating General Plan Upgrading pumping stations Partnering with Safer Bay Preventative maintenance program in San Carlos Bay Front Canal Making developers;

Question 3: How does your city plan to pay for these flood mitigation efforts? (General fund, grants, etc. Annual budget size?) Most funds are from General Fund Grants Funding is limited for many of the cities Grants: has anyone been successful? 11M grant from Caltrans. Not tons of success.

Similar to a Flood District like Santa Clara Valley Water?) Be cautious of overlap/conflicts with exiting agencies Add this entity to an existing entity (C/CAG, Port Authority, Harbor District) Whatever will be able to get funding Simple, a-political, nimble Clear objectives (SLR? Flood control? Both?) Understand functions Understand benefits to each city; coast vs shoreline; hills vs flatlands A-Political. Not happy with the Jackie Spears video. Need to understand the functions. Inventory City by City and propose how each agency benefits. Surprised Port Authority/Harbor District was interested. Erica: 6-7 projects

Question 6: What information do you need to help in your decision-making process? Clarity about what the agency would be addressing What is the governance? (Membership? JPA?) What is in it for the residents, each city? What will each city receive for the amount they fund? What kind of projects? (Large levee? Stormwater?)
