Unit 2 Unmanned Aircraft Module 1 The UAS Component 1.7 – Automation

Automation Supervisory Control Aircraft has an autopilot on board to take the information from the user and make the required adjustments to produce the desired output The connection form the ground control station only transmit the projected intentions to the aircraft

Automation Direct Control Aircraft does not have an autopilot, just a logic board Inputs every action of the user to the aircraft As the user inputs throttle and directional controls the aircraft will input these without hindrance for safety preclusions

Automation Levels of automation Levels of automation range from 1-10, as the level increases the amount of user input is decreased The computer offers no assistance: Human must make all decision and action The computer offers a complete se to decision/action alternatives Narrow the selection down to a few Suggests one alternative Exe cutes that suggestion if the human approves Allows the human a restricted time to veto before automatic execution Executes automatically, then necessarily informs humans Informs the human only if asked Informs the human only if it, the computer, decides to The computer decides everything and acts autonomously, ignoring the human

Automation 107.25 Operation form a moving vehicle or aircraft No person may operate a small unmanned aircraft system From a moving aircraft; or From a moving land or water-borne vehicle unless the small unmanned aircraft is flown over a sparsely populated area and is not transporting another person’s property for compensation or hire.
