Elé Product Nomenclature Trade Name Chemistry Function Comments PEL-ALC Alkoxylated Alcohols Emulsifiers Nonionic emulsifiers (predominately ethoxylated , but some propoxylated). Ethoxylated products names are PEL-ALC xxx-y, where xxx is the alcohol and y is the moles of EO. Greater than 15 moles, product is low melt point solid at room temperature. PEL-AMID Alkanolamides Foam Stabilizer, Viscosity Builders, Humectants Alkanolamides designed to perform as foam stabilizers & viscosity builders in anionic based cleansing products. All are liquids at room temperature except PEL-AMID CAEE, which is a soft paste. PEL-AMPH Amphoteric/ Zwitterionic Surfactant Surfactant, Foaming Agent Amphoteric (+/-) and Zwitterionic (+ & -),Surfactants may act as detergents, wetting agents, emulsifiers, foaming agents, thickener, and dispersants. Builds and stabilizes foam. (Betaines and Hydroxysultaines) PEL-EST Ester Emollient Moisturize and create occlusive barriers PEL-FIX Color Fixative Fixative, Conditioner Cationic silicones that improves color retention in semi- permanent hair color combined with hair shaft swelling agent. PEL-INE Amine PEL-INE ISML tertiary amine cationic conditioning agent PEL-LOK EO/PO Block Polymers HI&I Detergent Detergents, defoarners, wetting agents, ethoxylated polypropylene glycol - L-Pluronic series (normal) PEL-PAG Polyalkylene Glycol Emolient Alkoxylate, nonionic emollient. WS – water soluble (EO based), WI – water insoluble – (PO based) PEL-ROK Detergents, defoarners, wetting agents, propoxylated polyethylene glycol, R-Pluronic series (reverse) PEL-SIL Silicone Cationic dimethicone conditioners or silicone copolyols conditioners or hair resin plasticizers PEL-STAT Preservative PEL-SULF Sulfosuccinate Foaming Agent, Surfactant Mild, anionic, high to moderate foaming surfactants that stabilize and build foam
