Social Contract Construction Social Contract: An agreement among the members of an organized society or between the governed and the government defining and limiting the rights and duties of each.

Social Contract Construction: Pairs In Pairs, come up with 5 agreements that could go in our Social Contract For example, “Respect Others” or “No interrupting” Include at least 1 of each in your list an agreement for myself an agreement for my peers an agreement for my teacher

Social Contract: Pre-Voting As a pair, choose the 2 agreements you think are most important Write those with marker on the construction paper Feel free to make it GORGEOUS As a class, we will vote on each agreement

Voting: Volunteers We need 2 volunteers 1 to facilitate the voting process 1 to help keep track of the voting and put together our social contract

Social Contract: Voting For each agreement, show your opinion by doing one of the following: Thumbs up: Yes, I do think that belongs in our social contract. Palm facing down: It’s okay, I guess. Thumbs down: No, I would be uncomfortable if that were in our Social Contract.
