Presentation transcript:

Langley Park Primary Academy Year 2 Newsletter Friday 12th October 2018 This week we have been learning… This week, in our writing, we have written our published piece of our own version of Little Red Riding Hood. We then looked at the wolfs side of the story. We have created freeze frames to show parts of the story and think about how the characters are feeling. We are not sure whose story is the truth so we have written some questions to ask the main characters and put these into a letter. We hope to get a reply next week. In Maths, we have continued to investigate addition and subtraction. We have been able to find number patterns when adding and subtracting tens. We have looked at different methods of solving adding and subtracting equations, this includes a number line, W method and the column method. In our inquiry sessions we have been busy preparing for the school council. We have looked at what can make our school better and made a list of questions we would like to ask our future school councillors. We have designed a healthy sandwich at the cost of no more than 35p per sandwich which we will be making next week. In PE we have continued to look at ball skills, including moving with a ball, throwing, catching, attacking and defending. How you can help at home. Discuss why we celebrate Halloween Home Learning this week: Reading with your child. Spellings Multiplication Spellings: gem, giant, magic, giraffe, energy, jacket, jar, jog, join, adjust Please remember If you have any cable reels, old material, baskets, boxes or bricks please send them in we would like to make our outdoor learning area look great. The class email is empire@langleyparkprimaryacademy.org.uk or jazzy@langleyparkprimaryacademy.org.uk If you wish to discuss anything further. Thought for the week. Star of the week goes to… Empire - Archie for showing determination in his writing Jazzy - Rosie M for consistently working hard Congratulations!
