I. Introduction Statistics Botswana Autonomous body under the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning since April 2012 Operates within the jurisdiction of two (2) key legal instruments - Statistics Act (Cap 17:01) and Census Act (Cap 17:02) Mainly funded by the Government; also assisted by domestic, regional, and international bodies and partners. Performance monitored and overseen by the board. Has two arms in the organizational structure for statistical production; namely the Socio-Economics and Statistical and Technical Operations
