Folsom High School Class: AP World Language – French, German and Spanish Grades: 10-12 Description of Class: Culminating language class focusing on listening, speaking, writing, and reading across the six AP themes. Hours of Homework/Studying Per Week: 5-8 hours/week Prerequisites: “C” or better in Level 3 Summer Assignments: None Frequency & Style of Assessments: Unit Exams; Verb Quizzes; Vocab Quizzes; Oral Engagement Amount & Frequency of Written Work: Weekly in-class writing assignments Number of Oral Presentations: Daily oral participation is expected. Several oral presentations per unit. Amount of Reading Required: Quarterly self-paced reading log. Large Projects: “Round Table” project per unit whereby students will be doing one of the following: oral presentation; interpretation of a graph; selection, presentation and evaluation of a podcast as it pertains to the Unit; presentation of a skit incorporating vocabulary from the unit.
