Item Bank Features Change Standard Filter Items Select Item(s) Scroll through questions Keyword Search Question Type Question Banks Complexity Language
Questions from the Item Bank can be edited after they are added to the test
Question Editing Tools When editing a question, you can change the standard, add a secondary standard (dual coding), change the complexity, weight a standard, or toggle between multiple choice (one correct answer) or selection (more than one correct)
Question Editing Tools: Selected Response You have a variety of text editing tools to edit the question stems and answer choices with. Answer choices can be moved up or down using the arrows
Question Editing Tools: Constructed Response You must select the scoring range so that you can assign a score to the student. If you check the teacher response box, it will place a “Teacher Use Only” grid on the answer document that teachers will bubble for scanning. If you do not check the box, it will put space for the student to respond and capture an image of their response. Teachers will need to enter student scores for these items after scanning.
Question Editing Tools: Numeric Response You can choose between floating or fixed grids and allow for negative values.
Tips and notes for writing test items The current version does not have a spell check feature (This may be something they are working on), so it may be a good idea to paste the item into a document to check the spelling before saving it. Right click pasting into a question is not supported in some browsers, you may need to use CTR+V. While images can be pasted into questions, it is best if you save them and then upload them into the question using the picture editing tool. Use the “Resource” question types to add information or instructions used across multiple questions.
Question View Updates Planned updates for the question view include: add audio/video files add math type adjust options for numerical and constructed response items Add/edit standards and reporting categories to items
Layout View In this view, you will see how each question is displayed on the page. You have the ability to edit some of the page properties when you mouse over each question. More features are expected in the near future. This allows you to adjust the spacing after the question that is highlighted. This allows you to put in a page break after a question This allows you to select if you want the question set up in a two column format or across the entire page.
Key View This view allows you to see the test key and quickly edit the correct response, item weight, primary standard, and secondary standard.
Admin View New view that combines all of the settings from the old Campuses, Students, and Administration tabs into one place
Administering an Assessment To view and print Answer Documents, teachers will need to go to their Analyze Tab on the left side of the screen. There should be a message that says Test Available.
