Ms. Ruhl’s Class Classroom Newsletter December 7th/14th 2018 Dates to Remember Classroom News Library is every Wednesday! 12/17 Polar Express Day 12/21 Early Dismissal Congratulations to our friend---David---for being chosen as Student of the Week and for modeling Effort. He’s done an excellent job being our classroom helper this week. Also, congratulations to our friend---Savannah---- for modeling effort this week. We will be celebrating her as student of the week next week! Please continue to send in your box tops! We love being about to give back to our school! (Label with your child’s name and mine.) We have loved having parent volunteers visit us in the afternoons! Please check out our sign up online! Classroom Wish List: Band-Aids, Cardstock, Stickers, Applesauce pouches. What are we learning? Students have been busy listening to stories and using the strategy of visualizing to create mental pictures in their minds to better understand the story! In writing we have been working on creating a fantasy story about a fictional field trip our class is going on! I am proud of the details many students used in their writing! We also made connections to other fantasy stories we might have read or heard before. Students continue to make text to self connections when they read as well! In math-–we are practicing the various strategies we’ve learned to help us add and subtract.
