Ms. Yeung’s Grade Five 5Y September 17-21st What we are learning E-mail: vyeung@ntcs.on.ca September 17-21st What we are learning Notes/Reminders: Language: We are continuing the genre of ‘Mystery’. We will begin drafting our first mystery writing task. In grammar, we will be learning about state of being verbs, helping verbs and verb phrases. Math: We will begin our second unit on representing, comparing and ordering whole numbers. Social Studies: We will be looking at the different aspects of the First Nations of Canada, such as culture, government, food, clothing, etc. Science: We will continue our study of the digestive system and begin our hands-on project. Students will be placed into groups of four and work collaboratively on building their model. Arts: We will continue to explore with lines, colour and shapes. Our Fall Chandos trip is coming up from October 1 to 3rd. We are looking for more parent volunteers, especially dads! Please let me know if you are interested and available to come on this trip.
