Starter for today In you sketchbooks answer the following questions on the next available page. So far which wire project do you like best? How many wire projects will you do, why? Draw a necklace or bracelet that has beads and wire the entire length of the chain (google examples if you need to).

Wire and bead necklace or bracelet Jewelry Day 15 Wire and bead necklace or bracelet

Agenda for today Review what we did last time. Listen to demonstration on how to make wire and bead links. Write down steps in sketchbook for when you are ready. Finnish and photograph pendant if not done yet. Finish and photograph bead spider if not done yet. Finish and photograph tree of life if not done yet. Make a wire and bead bracelet or necklace.

Last time We wrote down the steps to making a tree of life. We photographed our pendants and e-mailed them to Mrs. Francesconi to start grading. We photographed our spiders and e-mailed them to Mrs. Francesconi. We began work on our tree of life pendants If you were not here last time you will want to check with people at your table and go to the classroom website to find what you need to catch up. www.mrsfrancesconi.weebly.com

Wire and bead links

Step 1 Plan a design of what you want the ends of your wire to look like. You will be creating a pattern, what will that pattern be?

Step 2 Bend the wire so it will hold the bead on both sides. The wire should be done in a decorative and clean manner to make the links look good.

Step 3 Make jump rings or figure eights to connect your links together to make a chain. Attach a clasp and file any sharp edges.

Studio Time First make sure you have good notes for the wire and bead jewelry. www.mrsfrancesconi.weebly.com Second finish your pendant and photograph once done to turn in. francesconip@ogdensd.org Finish the bead spider if you started that one, photograph to turn in. Next finish your tree of life if you started that one, photograph to turn in. Lastly begin your bead and wire jewelry

Clean up Put saw blades away if still intact or throw away if they are broken. Put all supplies away nothing should be in your boxes except the exact amount of beads, wire, and sheet metal you are using for your projects. Put your sketchbooks away in your hanging file and keep your projects in your box.
