THE TREASURE OF LEMON BROWN As we listen to the audio of the story, read along and listen to the descriptive language Walter Dean Meyers uses. Try to picture the setting as he describes it. Remember that SETTING refers to TIME, PLACE, and MOOD. As you listen and read along, figure out the mood that the author is trying to create in the story. What are some clues about the mood.

SCAVENGER HUNT!!! With a partner, find EVIDENCE from the story (direct quotes) for each of the following: The Physical Setting (2 quotes) The Mood of the Story (2 quotes) Two pieces of figurative language (ex: simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole)
