Presentation transcript:

WESt Sammamish park project City of Woodinville undertook a study to assess feasibility of developing City-owned land along the west slope of the Sammamish River Valley into a bike park and trail system. Study initiated after presentation to Parks and Recreation Commission on April 7, 2016. Phase I—feasibility review of access and preliminary cultural resources; no significant barriers uncovered. Phase II—reconnaissance level review of geotechnical issues, environmental critical areas, and permitting feasibility. Due to the fact that the site is heavily constrained by regulated areas (erosion hazard areas, landslide hazard areas, seismic hazard areas, wetlands, streams, and potential fish and wildlife habitat conservation areas for pileated Woodpeckers) the proposed trail development and access/parking area does not appear to be feasible.
