END OF YEAR 2 ***YOU have made a decision on your PATHWAY and your General Counselor is aware.*** YEAR 3 In Year 3, you have made several contacts with your General Counselor and are aware of the GE’s need to warn your AA or Transfer and for some, BOTH. END OF YEAR 3 ***YOU are on your way to graduating and/or Transferring.***

Permit Process

Credential vs. Permits Credentials Must have earned a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science from an accredited university or private college. You can teach in accordance to your Credential (e.g.) Multiple Subject Professional Clear Credentials can only teach in preschool to 6th grade in a self-contained classroom. Single Subject Professional Clear Credential allows a teacher to teach in a specific subject such as English, Math, Science, History, etc in grades 6th to high school. Principals must earn an Administrative Credential (Tier 1 & Tier 2) to be able to supervise an elementary school, high school or college level campus and adults. Permits Must have the matrix qualifications to teach or operate only a child care center/early education center/ or day care center You can only practice in accordance to your Permit (e.g.) Assistant Teacher can only assist an Associate Teacher/Teacher and cannot be left alone with children Associate Teacher/Teacher can be with a children and supervise TAs. Master Teacher can be with children and serve as a coordinator of curriculum and staff development and supervise staff. Site Supervisor can supervise the functionality of one site only and can be with children and serve as a coordinator of curriculum and staff development and supervise staff. Program Director can supervise several sites can be with children and serve as a coordinator of curriculum and staff development and supervise staff.

CHILD DEVELOPMENT CLUB Mission: To develop ECE teachers in training in terms of their professional develop while providing an opportunity to learn the skills of advocacy, networking, fund raising, event training, and portfolio development for scholarships and jobs. Our CD Club meets every 3rd Thursday of the month at 1:00 pm in GC 110(curriculum lab) Club Advisors: Dr. Dolores Gallegos and Dr. Marini Smith
