Anxiety Disorder: phobia By: Lesley Yruegas

Causes: -Though definite sources are sketchy for where it originated evidence shows that: It may possibly run in families through genetics.

Prevalence: About 18% of all Americans are traumatized with irrational fears that prevent them from going about their daily lives.

Signs and SYMPTOMS: Signs and symptoms include: Trembling Shortness of breath A strong desire to distance oneself Panic and fear Rapid heartbeat

MOST AT RISK: Phobias usually appear between childhood and adolescence (twice as common in women than in men)

Prevention and Treatment: -Treatment includes therapy, medicine or a combination of both.
