Is there still a need for IG THz? November 2016 Is there still a need for IG THz? The existence of the IG THz is still important, because…. Wrt the process of WRC 2019 it is important to have a group in IEEE 802 active in THz communications in order to enable IEEE 802 to answer liaison statements form ITU-R also in the period after TG3d has has been completed. There are many more potential applications in this frequency range than those currently in he scope of TG3d. => IG THz will be a vehicle to spin-off study groups for furher amendments of IEEE 802.15.3 <author>, <company>

How can we increase more interest? November 2016 How can we increase more interest? Compared to the former period 2008 – 2012 the number of world-wide research projects on THz communications has significantly increased. This provides a big opportunity to attract more attendees to the meetings. However, the current policy of basicly having meetings at IEEE plenaries may be not optimal. Which possibilities do we have to organise meetings? November 2016 Which possibilities do we have to organise meetings? Inside the IEEE 802 schedule: We have to abandon the policy of meeting every plenary.
