4.3 – graphing relationships Textbook pg. 234 Objective: The student will represent relationships using graphs in order to compare two sets of data.

Continuous graph: smooth line or curves representing data patterns Discrete graph: only specific points – NOT connected (only certain numbers included) CONTINUOUS speed of an airplane as it takes off DISCRETE books sold for $3 each speed money time Books sold

Matching graphs 1)

Matching graphs 2) The temperature was constant for several hours at the beginning of the day, then rose steadily in the next hour. It stayed the same temperature for most of the rest of the day before dropping sharply at sundown. A B C temp temp temp time time time
