Rotifers and Bryozoans

Rotifers Rotifer means “Wheel Bearer” They are multicellular organisms common in fresh and salt water. Part of the Rotifera phylum. Able to change the shape of their body.

Rotifers part 2. They swim by means of their cilia. They can also telescope their bodies to facilitate movement. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TVK0o4nQnw&feature=related

Reproduction in the Rotifer Rotifers can reproduce by a asexual and sexual process. Asexual process is called Parthenogenesis. During Parthenogenesis the female produces a Egg without fertilization that has a complete set of chromosomes.

Bryozoans Bryozoan are benthic organisms which are sometimes mistaking for sponge. Bryozoan means “moss animals” Classified in its own phylum Bryozoa.

Bryozoans part 2 Bryonzoans feed on plankton and organic debris. Food is digested in a one way digestive track containing a mouth, stomach, and intestines. Lives in box/ vase shaped shell made out of Calcium carbonate like crabs.

Bryozoan Reproduction Bryozoans reproduce asexualy by budding. They can also reproduce sexualy .
