Presentation transcript:

Warm Up 10/12 Find the question sheet on Google Classroom, and respond to the ones you find the most interesting/compelling to answer (pick 5). Look over your notes and compile the most pressing questions you have about the text.

Learning Targets I can participate in a class discussion about chapters 20-24 of Invisible Man in order to deepen my understanding of the text.

Discussion Format Students will count off (1, 2, 1, 2…), and the evens will be our first group. The first group will have 15 minutes to participate in a discussion about your reading. Although the handout provides questions and allows you to brainstorm, you may ask or address whatever you feel is relevant. You will earn points by participating. You start out with a 70%, and earn 10% for each participation effort that advances the discussion. (Points may be deducted for Tom Foolery). Students in group 2 will silently observe and take notes during this time. After 15 minutes, the groups switch.

Wrap Up What was useful about this discussion? What questions do you still have?

Homework Finish the book by Monday! If you want, you may resubmit your college essay. The resubmission is due Friday, 10/20 
