Workstyles

ORANGE (The Leader) We like …. Challenges / ambition To decide and act quickly To be in charge. Relying on ourselves. Being confident. Having a highenergy level/ fast pace. Stating our opinions. Remaining focused on a problem until it is solved Provides direction to the group.

ORANGE (The Leader) We have to be careful about… Being too competitive. Trying to do too many things at once. criticizing others. arguing unnecessarily. Making decisions for others/being impatient. Telling others what to do. running people over to reach goals Taking credit for other people’s work We Value results!!!!!!!

ORANGE (The Leader) If your friend is orange, they will… Give you Support Talk to you “Straight” (tell you how it is). Help you avoid failure with good planning. Be a problem solver for you. Be a good ally against others who are giving you problems. Cheer you up. Support you to others to help you succeed.

ORANGE (The Leader) But they will also…. Embarrass when you least expect it. compete with you and do things to make lose or fail. Use their influence to undermine your success. Not speak to you or avoid you if you make them Angry. Grade your successes and show you why your Successes are not as good as theirs.

Purple (The Organizer) Things we do well.... Organize / Plan carefully. Solve complicated problems. Collect data / provide information Give logical explanations. Take things seriously rarely make mistakes - accurate Ask questions Take care of details.

Purple (The Organizer) Things we need to watch…. Being too detailed/ too serious/ too cautious Wasting time trying to solve one problem. Resisting new ideas (do not like change) Liking perfection criticizing others easily. not trusting people. Keeping feelings inside Making things that seem simple more complicated We Value Reasons!!!!!

Purple (The Organizer) If your friend is blue, they will… Listen to your ideas without rushing or judging Help think of every possible solution to a problem Give you lots of time/ patience Help you get organized Help you stay on track or on schedule Will urge you to use caution and will help you to realize consequences of your actions.

Purple (The Organizer) But they will also… Try to tell you your actions are wrong Interrupt you to tell you their feelings even Though you are the one with the problem Tell everyone why they are mad at you Show you all of your mistakes Give you “grades” for your ideas Make fun of your ideas Will “get even” with you if they are mad at you

Yellow (The Creator) Our strengths are… Spontaneity/ taking risks Creativity / good ideas. Enthusiasm/ fun. Attracting attention. Thinking of creative solutions for problems. Making friends easily. Accepting new opportunities/ trying different things influencing other people easily. Being a good entertainer.

Yellow (The Creator) We need to work on… Following through on projects. Being more predictable. Demanding too much attention. Keeping promises. Thinking through the consequence of their actions Not getting bored easily. Talking too much /being the class clown. Concentrating on the project to be completed. We value Rewards!!!!!

Yellow (The Creator) If your friend is yellow… Tell you that you are the greatest. applaud your efforts/ be your biggest fan. Give you a great amount of encouragement Think of exciting things to do. Tell all of your other friends how wonderful you are Introduce you to new and fun friends

Yellow (The Creator) But they will also… criticize you to others Tell all of your secrets Avoid you if you make them mad Tell you things that are wrong with you. Use their influence to limit your success Treat you like a child compete with you on their terms.

Green (The Nurturer) We are good at … listening Comforting and consoling Being patient Forming strong, close relationships being aware of other’s feelings trusting of other people Accepting suggestions Being loyal to our friends Being careful (not risk takers) Helping people to get along

Green (The Nurturer) We need to … speak up Give our opinions Stand our ground Following through with things Feel more confident Stop reacting emotionally Compete more / take a risk We Value Relationships!!!!!!

Green (The Nurturer) If your friend is green, they will…. Be your friend Always be there to listen to your problems help you decide consequences of your actions Help you think of alternatives to your problems defend you against others Make you feel better introduce you to new friends Encourage you to succeed

Green (The Nurturer) But they might also… Try to make you feel guilty avoid you if you hurt their feelings Try to make you not like your other friends If they don’t like them correct you often Tell you your weaknesses Might tell your friends what to “think of you” or Sometimes they might tell your secrets
